Stalactite

A long-term project created for the SPACE Gallery show called 'Behind Our Scenes', an exploration of the artworks created by museum staff who are artists themselves–a chance for the backstage workers to have a moment in the spotlight! I created a hand-crocheted wire scupture for a large gallery space, and composed a soundtrack of cave-like noises to be emitted out of several small speakers embedded in the sculpture. The piece had long crystal beads at the points of the stalactite/stalagmite column, and was lit dramatically from both floor and ceiling.
